    Yes.. I saw that the small washer was not there. I am getting conflicting stories. The Yamaha shop said 3500mi, however, I just heard from another person the book says 3700.

    What do you also think of Amzoil?

    The best oil is the clean slippery kind. I have used AMSOIL and it's fine. Just make sure you stick with engine oil. I think everyone here will agree the vegetable oil and baby oil are unsuitable for the XS1100.

    You can source a copper washer for the drain plug at just about any auto parts store. That will work fine. The crush washer listed in the parts catalogue is available from YAMAHA. I just bought a few.

      Amsoil is very good oil. They make a top of the line motorcycle engine lubricant that is wet clutch formulated. You don't want to go too slipery. The clutch needs to have some sort of friction to operate properly.
