Now those were some interesting wiring jobs. Did the electrical system actually function?

Was the PO a residential electrician? I have a 69 El Camino that looked like that under the dash, and hood, and the PO was an electrician. Wire nuts everywhere. I couldn't believe that someone could do such a thing to a vehicle.

I am wholly convinced that I own a magical motorcycle. Yes, the 'lectrix do run and the turn signals even shut off like they're 'possed to. Upon removing fairings and anks an such I noticed that not only were the left two carbs not connected to the air box, at least three of the hoses in the octopus spagetti were not connected... Somehow she made it just fine from Redding, OR to Oakland, CA.

Hmm.
Lots to do...

Yeah, I think the PO said he was some sort of utilities type. management? I did think it a bit curious when he threw in a bunch of colored wires with all the other goodies, "never know when you'll need to wire something!" Maybe the white ones on the rear fender were just threaded in, in case... ?

I saw on ebay that you bought an air filter from a guy in Ft.Worth...Do you know his name, or his business name? I'm watching an item he has on ebay right now, and I was wondering if I may know him, or know of him.

Damn... If I were rich I'd have a bunch of project bikes like that. And at least one ridable. And a beer.
Hmm... I got beer, so I'm halfway rich alredy.
I'd suggest a complete rewiring... when something goes wrong, you can at least change a fuse or something.

Can't say I'm rich, but when one isn't working, the other usually will. Either way, likewise, thank goodness there is beer (and an otherwise POS, but very, very reliable '90 Nissan p-up not shown in the picture).

There is a really really gorgeous '78 Suzuki GS 750 in PA for sale on eBay which I would love to move over to my stable. It's got 56K on it already and I'm waiting to hear from the seller what the engine compression is like, whether it's had a top end, that kinda stuff. I can dream. Well, I can drool at least...

Ah, yes... thanks for catching that. I was confiusing the Suzi with an XS650 for sale - very low mileage, Very Pretty, VERY 'spensive (no bids, starting $1200 - reserve not met.)
