    Help! I need side covers for a '78.

    I recently aquired a '78 XS11. I want to restore it, but the side covers are MIA. I've read several different discussions in this forum reguarding XS side covers and I'm wandering if there is any other model XS side cover that could fit on my '78. At least close. I could fabricate the rest. These puppies are hard to find! I really want to put this beast on the road. But not without at least getting some side covers for it. I'll keep watching eBay. In the meantime if someone out there has any ideas or suggestions please help me out.

    I know where there is a set of great side covers in Houston... I really want them but the guy wants $100 for the set. I would rather see someone here on the list get them . Let me know and i will email you his info...

          There is a salvage yard in Ft.Worth called Metro Cycle. I had checked with him earlier last year, and he had a few sets for older XS 11's.
          Here is his web site:http://www.buymetro-cycle.com./
          817 478 3502 is the phone number. I think his price was $40 a piece. His name is Dave.

              If your not in a hurry, you should be able to find a set on ebay using this link;

              I will say that $80 - $100 is not that bad a price though for a nice set of complete covers. I've even seen a set of Gold side cover emblems go for this much if they are like new condition.

                I may have just what you need... Let me look through my spares cabinet. I think I took a set off an organ doner :-)

                  Just took a quick look... I have the cover for the battery side. The lock tab is broken off but the name badge is still there. You're welcome to it if you want it.
