    fork brace and dust covers

Hi i bought a fork brace for my 79 sf model ,i have sent it off

to be sand blasted and powder coated and from what i can

remember it had mounts on the top for dust covers ,i think

the brace is telefix or teleflex or something similar

i know i should wait till i get it back ,but i'm itching to get the
    covers

and was wondering does anybody know of these fork braces and

do standard fork dust covers fit?????

this might be a stupid question but i need to know as it will take

me a week or 2 to get the covers shipped over and want to order them now if you see what i mean

I do believe the standard fork dust boots fit onto the forkbrace clamps.

Yes, that has been my experience, too. Especially with the Telefix, which is a major brand. There are lips that match the ones on the top of the fork leg, so you just slip the boots up, bolt up the brace and slide the boots down.

Enjoy your brace, I'm installing mine this Spring and I am eager to feel the difference in the handling.

No, Gaffer, any brace will NOT fit any model.

The last time I checked Yamaha, the standard dust covers are no longer available. Do you have another source?
