  • 0-60 in how long?

Just curious because mine has the first gear problem, which I am fixing next week I hope. What is the time for a decent running xs to go from 0-60?

Pretty darn quick. Shift fron 1st to 2nd and you there.
My E reads 70 MPH in 2nd at redline.
I would imagine a Special would be a little quicker.
    I'm guessing 3-4 seconds?????

Fast enough to dump your butt onto the ground if you're not careful. Just don't miss any shifts. Ever hear one of these beasts roar when the tach bounces off 10k? Scary. I did that with my previous engine, missed a WOT shift into 4th at 85 mph, and it started to make a strange noise after that.

Any time, Buddy. Make sure you come when it is cold, like now. Wind chill of -31 this morning. Ride the 01, LOL. Hey, I got those XJ handlebars on the F, really like them. Now I gotta get a set for the SF, so both bikes feel the same. Hope you survive the cold winter. See you in the spring.

Is it really that fast? I was thinking more like 5 seconds or something, considering the fast bullet bikes are in that range... Granted, my bikes are slower than ya'all's.

                  actually

your probly correct ben. From a standing start more like 5-7 sec. on a roll from lets say10-15mph,60 is just a heart beat away, more in the 2-4 sec range.

                          0-60mph

I'm not sure of exact figures but from a standing start and up to 50mph, I can see off my friends GSXR1000!!
Unfortunately, he can't seem to keep his front wheel on the deck. Well that's his excuse anyway.

                          That's on a 5K7 XS11 Sport model.

Revs up, slip the clutch and yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

All off road of course officer
If you can't afford it....finance it!!

The Cycle World road test on the '80 SG showed 0-60 in 4.2 and 1/4 mile in 12.0, if I remember correctly. It was actually a tenth or so slower than the '79 SF, due to tighter emmisions, ie leaner carbs. I read the article, then bought mine in 1980
