  • XS and Yamaha's sense of humor

I've noticed some strange (to me) things about the Standards, Specials, and Midnight Specials....

As someone else pointed out the Standards have square headlight, turnsignals, and gauges...and round mirrors.
Specials have round lights, gauges, and square mirrors.
The Midnight Specials are all black with gold trim, XScept for the tank and side cover emblems (which are chrome ). The tank and side cover emblems on my Standard are gold.

          it's a laugh

          Hi Pat,
the little differences in styling; square vs round, gold vs chrome, are all very well for a mild giggle but for a solid snigger consider an electronic iggy with a vacuum over-ride and if you want a full roaring belly-laugh, check out the Special's weirdie-wedgie front calipers what I am stuck with!
