  • More rear end mods

OK, here's a cheap way to give an XS11's ugly butt a cool streetfighter look.

    1. Scavenged an old XL185 tail lamp unit.
    2. Ditched the XS's skanky cowl and tail light.
    3. Moved and bolted the black-box onto the toolkit box.
    4. Cut down mudguard with hacksaw - raised with extra boltholes.
    5. Done!

Nice modification job. Now go to a junkyard, lift the hood on an old Chevy and steal a length of that black, plastic corrugated flex tubing that they use to cover up wiring harnesses, and the job is complete.
Of course, it's only a suggestion.

If you put the rear cover back on the seat, then notched it to fit around the tail light, it would clean up the looks. Also, the wires should be color coded, makes it easier to fix three years down the road.

Yeah the wires are part of the red/black colour scheme. Diver, I did angle grind various shapes into the plastic cowl but didn't like the look. Just covering or tidying up the bolts on the seat rear would do the trick though.

          Leather tool bag

          Hey Guys,

I installed a black leather tool bag the same width as the rear of the seat in the space under the back of the seat. Looks factory.
