LOL !!! I can only imagine !!! I feel sorry ,understand the misery, i was taught by a lady ,and a petit good looking one!! On my bike test,,,,,, If she can do it anyone can and to be honest closest to her way is DiverRay, squareing the stand first is vital !!! Push all your weight thru your knee, down to your foot and hey presto!!
no more looking like a donkey !!!

imagine if you drop it while trying to get it up,,, then there will be another lot of questions and answers !!!!!

have fun you can do it a woman can !!!!

      centerstand

I am 5' 7", 155 lbs and with the correct technique I can set my 1980 xs1100 special on the centerstand with no problem. But I have a friend who is 6'4", 230 lbs and had a hard time with his GS 850G, until I showed him the technique. It is not about size.

This is a great forum for us xs'ers

I bet you tell that to all the girls!

Right, the right technique is everything.

          Randy:

You caught the implication I only have to convince the wife of that. Have an xs'ive Christmas.

What I have run into on my bike is finding a good place to hold the bike with my right hand.I made a mount to grip while trying to raise the bike and I could raise the bike half way and then the underside of the seat would start pinching my hand and then I would have to quit.Grabbing the underside of the seat for me doesn`t work to good (came a hair of tearing the seat off).I think if I can rig something up so I don`t pinch my hand off putting the bike up shouldn`t be a problem or at least not as big a one.Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.

On my E I use the large 'crash bar' for the saddlebags, down-side is that my right hand is backwards (knuckles won't fit between bar and saddlebags). When the bags are off I have a handle that goes from the shock to the frame or I'd use the luggage rack.

On Wife's Virago (with hardbags) I reach all the way back to the rack behind the seat. Virago is XStremely easy to put on the stand(this is the bike I tore my calf muscle putting on the centerstand ).

On the MN Special I use the seat grab bar.

Toughest was Wife's XS750. Like someone else said "on the centerstand both wheels are on the ground" almost impossible to get off the stand.

99.9% of the time I use the centerstand
