  • rear blinkers

Quick question. My standard has one wire rear blinkers. I bought 2 wire blinkers before i knew. Is there any way to make the 2 wire blinkers work with a one set up?

The way I added running lights to the back of mine (cheap way) was to get dual wire disk that goes in the socket from an auto parts store. I lengthened one slot that the bulb tabs attach to and swapped the 1156 bulb for an 1157 bulb. connect the turn signal wire to the brighter filament. Connect the other wire to your tail light. This all can be done for about $10.
Here in Calif. having a non-blinking light other than red to the rear of a vehicle is illegal. That said I've run every bike I've owned that way and never been cited in 20 years.
An easier way would be to install some front turnsignals in the rear.

I might be wrong but you can still use a two wire blinker with an 1157 bulb. Just use one of the wires since both are hots. Make sure you get a good ground to the stem and don't have the other hot wire touch anything else. Just cut it if it has a metal end on it a wrap it with electrical tape to prevet it from grounding out.

Or, wire them both together for a brighter rear blinker.
