  • XS1100SG front brake pads

I still find myself without the proper front brake pads for my SG. The YAMAHA pads I have are both marked "RI" and "RO". All four fit in the left caliper and none fit in the right one.

I'm working with a friend who has a parts fiche and access to the parts, but I keep getting the wrong ones. The 1980 parts fiche shows the same pads for both sides. This can't be right. Last night we ordered pads for a '79 SF as they have a different PN for each side. Will this fix my problem? I'm sorry I don't have access to any of the part numbers right now. I have two identical sets of pads. Am I correct in believing the pads should be tapered in opposite directions and slip right in place?

    brakes

Your kidding me Marty! You haven't had brakes since Suches?
    Try this web site:
    http://www.yamaha-motor.com/service/service.asp

It's the official Yamaha parts fiche.

They list the right side brakes as:
    2G2-W0045-00-00
    and the left side as:
    2G2-W0045-10-00

I guess I should have looked at the 79 parts list from the beginning. No parts are listed for the '80. I should have remembered the HOBBIT bike was a '79. Hopefully, this will be resolved by the end of this week. -Thanx
