Chain Drive conversions

We are planning to insert an XS1100 into a road racing sidecar. We are aware chain drive conversions have been done in the past. I am hoping somebody may be able to share some of the tribulations so we dont repeat the same mistakes. Why as XS. We use the machine for training and fel nobody will be able to damage the engine in the manner they have with others engines.
