  • Idle Jet Plugs

my 80 1100G standard has little rubber plugs that cover the idle jet tube. They seem to be worn out and fall right out when I turn the carb right side up. I'm afraid that these will fall off and end up floating around in the bowls. What is there purpose? should I try to find new ones or just leave them off?

The purpose of the plugs is to route the fuel flow through the main jet instead of directly through the pilot. I hope that's clear. Anyway. get new ones from Mike's XS. the link is somewhere in this forum. By all means, don't leave them off.

Go to Mikes XS and go almost all the way down the page to find Part #48-5002 PASSAGE PLUG - Carb Pilot Jet . You get two of them for $3 so four of them will cost you $6. Look around while you are at Mikes and you will find a bunch of things that will fit your XS11.
