  • Back Rest or luggage Rack

I have an 80 G with the full Yanaha touring set up. I bought an 99 Royal Star Venture a couple off month's ago. So I'm thinking about removing the trunk and maybe the Saddle Bags. I've seen a couple of luggage racks one with a back rest on Ebay Question is will the year make a difference in fit. Also what about Standard vs Special?

These items are not universal. Luggage racks for a standard do not readily fit on a Special. The same for saddle bags. Also the '79 Secial parts don't readily fit on a '80/'81 Special.

...yeah, '79 parts do NOT fit '80 SGs, and I got a luggage rack off eBay that was advertised "1979 YAMAHA XS 1100 REAR LUGGAGE RACK XS1100 ELEVEN"

          eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=35580

...and now I have a boxed part in my shop taking up space...
so, be careful of what part you are actually bidding on/buying...

I also got a front and back wheel... they were for Standards (17" rear wheel) and I have a Special (16" rear wheel), so my advice: do your homework first - otherwise you'll have "spare parts"...

Best thing to do is get dimensions. I bought a rack advertised as should fit an XS1100 and that was the only bike advertised. I bought it without asking and turns out it was way to wide for my bike.
Owned by a pair of XS11's. An 80 Standard and a 79 Special.
