    Can anyone tell me how much oil i should use in a fork of a xs1100s type 5k7 1981. there are so many different vallues. Like 212cc or 225cc and 241,210,286. Heeeelp.

    According to the clymers manual under specifications the fork oil should be "E" and "F" models 212cc ; or 5.97 Imp oz. The "SF" model ; should be 225cc ; or 6.34 Imp oz. The "G" and "H" models
    should be 241cc; and the "SH" and "LH should be 210cc . Viscosity should be 10wt fork oil.
    Hope I didn't loose ya there but it's all there. broken down by the manual. Hope that none of these nimbers are typo errors. One thing that I have found out in rebuilding forks is It's not so much the amount of oil used. It's getting the amount EXACT in each fork. If the fork oil is off a little bit it can affect the ridability of your machine. If you bike is an 81s then it would fall into the "SH" area. Good luck.
