    Rain misfire

My 80 Standard runs terrible everytime it rains. Figured it was bad plug wires and the coils were reading high resistance, so replaced the coils with Accel coils and wires on a sunny Saturday. Also replaced the gasket on the timing cover. Ran great for 2 days, then it rained. I had a half-cover on it the whole time it was raining, but when the rain stopped, I started it and it was immediately running rough. Rained like crazy here in Japan today and missed badly at all RPM's the whole drive home from work. Any suggestions?

My 79 standard acted the same way a couple times, found the air filter box was not sealed, also, I spray my wires with silicone spray ever so often, Later 'Dog

Check your plug boots for cracks, usually wet weather affects the boot more than the coils...

Hadn't thought of the air cleaner housing. Will check it my next day off. Plug boots are new along with the coils and wires. Thanks for the help.

I'd try some dielectric grease on the plug boots to be safe. Also check your wires from the pick-up coils, you may have worn or cracked insulation.
