I wonder if he can supply the XJ tank badges? I could sure use a pair.

I contacted them asking if they have or can make some Special badges. Still waiting to hear back, as soon as I do I'll let you guys know.

            New tanks badges...maybe

Passed a Yam XJR1200 on the way to work this morning and got to thinking whether the tank badges were the same as on my XS11.

            What do you reckon?

If so then brand new badges are a possibility - for Europe anyway and I'm sure possible mail-order for you guys in the US who I don't think get this model.

At least they are not likely to be those flat, brittle, thin golf cart badges some people out there have tried to use

              1st hand experience

              http://www.badgereplicas.com.au/badges_yamaha.htm

One of my friends ordered XS-2 side cover emblems and trim displayed on the link above. It took less than three weeks for delivery.

These items were not cheap and they are useless. None of them fit. The finish is poor. The chrome is nice, but what's underneath should have been more carefully finished. The XS650 emblem readily sheds paint. It's all moot since none of the mounting studs line up with the holes in the side covers. These pieces can't be installed without breaking them.

I'm referencing parts YS01 and YS04. Not even close!

The place is closed for vacation, so he'll have to wait for any possible satisfaction. In the meantime, I wouldn't buy this stuff.

Anybody here have experience with the XS1100 stuff?

I'll report back when I hear about the response to the complaints.

I tried that with a pair of extra XS650 tank badges that I had. They look identical but are in fact 1/4" smaller so they don't fit. I'd carefully measure the XJR1200 tank badges before I laid my money down.
My answer was to fill the badge locations with body filler before repainting the tank and then stick on the aftermarket 3 tuning forks badges that my local Yamaha dealer sells for $4.75 each.

                  Follow up on Badge Replicas

My friend stated his complaints to those folks "down under". They provided a full refund. They refunded shipping as well.

The XS-2 emblems may have been a bust, but the company made it right. It's possible that the XS1100 emblems are a better fit.

There may be a few Yamaha Golf Car dealers that still have some tank badges in stock for $3.00 but they have quit making them and now use only the round symbol with the tuning fork in it on the golf cars. I stopped at their store in Tucson the other day to get some more and they were out of stock and said they were not getting anymore.
