    front wheel alingment

I just reassembeled the front forks on my 80 XS11 spec and noticed the wheel seems to be cocked to the left about 1/16". I can make it streight by forcing it into place and then tightning down the triple trees but this kinda worries me. Am I just being a lil too nervious or is this real bad???

Also notice no pics posted on this site are we aloud to post and show off our prides. New to site and didnt want to make waves(would like to show off the job we did on the lower legs)

At the top of the upper tree, check to see if both fork legs are even. It IS possible to get one lower than the other. If they are even, then it would seem something is incorrect inside of the forks. The easy way would be to loosen the tree clamps, put equal shims between the wheel and forks, and retighten the clamps. The proper way would be to find out for sure if everything is assembled correctly. I have done many front forks, and have yet to find any that would not line up. Consider this AFTER you read the previous post, and followed it.

I spose i should of been a tad more specific its not side to side alignment that what together perfectly it seems like the wheel is pointed to the left by about 1/16 inch. The wheel spins perfectly and has no drag on it whatsoever

Get a straight edge, or a good ruler, and run it up and down around the fork tubes. See if you have a bent one. That would displace one fork tube a little bit to the front or rear, shifting the axle and tire to the side a bit. If the previous owner had hit something, one of the tubes may be bent back a little.
