Taller gears

Is anyone aware of a taller ring gear and pinion for the XS11?
I have become acustomed to the lower rpm and good mileage of the newer v-twins and would like to slow down the XS.
Any help is appreciated. Thx.

Ain't gonna happen. Only one gear ratio made for these bikes. If you have a Special, you can go to the 17 inch Standard wheel, but that is the only option.

Yep, the rear was so good Yamaha put thye exact same one on the Venture Royale.

Only option is chain drive conversion.

change the carbs for the carbs from the xs1100sport it give max tork ar 4000rpm now you get it at 6000rpm
or put the xjr1200/1300 carbs in your bike it boost your engine to 108hp.

Hey Piet, what are the differences on xs11 sport carbs? What diameter are they and what jets, needles etc.. do they have?

So what is a xs11 sport anyway. It must have a tweaked motor or what? The 1st xs11 I had, the pre- owner reckoned it was the 'superbike model' They were hi performance models specially made for production racing. The factory had to build 101 to make them street legal. It was still called a 78E model though. Whether the guy was all B.S. I don't know. He reckoned they had altered cam-timing, but it had no slotted sprockets. To ride it, it reminds me of a mach111 kwaka - zilch under 5000 then crazy through to 9000. A drilled out airbox revved out the top end even better. The pistons and engine eventually went clattery but it still had tons of power even then.

good morning,the xs1100sport has the same engine but the carb are named differend >>BS 34-II the engine runs smooter with less vibrations too!! topspeed 217km/h
