  • Helmet Holder and turn Signals

Some where I thought I saw a thread about relocating the helmet holder. But I can't find it by the search method.
Any suggestions out there or do I just toss it.
I am installing a luggage rack on my 78 and between that helmet holder and the turn signals it is not a bolt up job. Any suggestions on relocating the turn signals?

try to get hold of a rear mudgaurd from a e model as the indicators come from the back light bracket so they will not be in the way.

      Mudguard?

I recognize the words you wrote as English but seeing as how I am to the bone stupid I sure don't understand what you are telling me. I thought all this time I had an e model. By mudguard do you mean rear fender? And that some E models have the turnsignals attached to the tail light? Oh well Like Pathfinder says There is always a way figure it out. Back to sleep for me. Thanks

        ?????

Just thought I'd chime in. Is this what your talking about? My signals were mounted up high about 3/4 back from the front of the seat. Helmet lock is in original location. To mount most luggage racks you have to remove the chrome grab handle on the left rear of the seat. That is there so you can grab on it to put bike on the centerstand. You don't need it just grab the seat itself. I moved turn signals here. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...E/100_0068.jpg

You can mount after-market single bulb lights on the bags themselves and connect them to your turn signal wires. Won't solve your helmet situation though...
You can find those lights at auto stores or Wal-mart, the kind they put on trailers... Simple and effective.

My 80G with original bags has a light bar with signals on each end that mounts to the license plate bracket using the same bolts that hold the palte on.
