Oil LIght Won't Turn Off

I have an 1981 XS1100L, went on a long ride this last week (around 2,000 miles). Had no problems but when I started the bike the next day the oil light will not go off. Oil levels are correct and an oil change was performed before the trip. Any clues.

Oil Idiot Light

Better get a master oil pressure gauge on the bike and check the true oil pressure. If still low then check for gas contamination. You could be pumping gas around or badly worn main bearings.
Certainly find out the reason before traveling anywhere.
