usa rallies?

you seem to have a lot of meetings or rallies in the usa,so i was just sitting here a thinkin??????? if i was to make a trip to the usa it would only be get off the plane go to the rallie and then back on the plane which rallie would be the best one for me to go to,dont want to see any harleys either.

Hey there Scoobes,

When you say Rallies, do you mean XS11 exclusive rallies, or just bike gatherings in general? Also, are you going to try to BORROW a bike, cause most of our XS rallies are more riding oriented. There are good gatherings at the end of the day's rides, but most of the action is ON THE ROAD!!

Also, aside from borrrowing a bike, what type of riding do you want to do? Lots of nice tight twisty roads, or big spacious long sweeping vistas? Alot will depend on what you want to see here in the USA. I know you have some beautiful countryside views in the British Isles, so not sure what you want to experience?

Did you see the posts/links about the Bozeman rally, up there in Big Sky country of Montana? In the middle of Oct. there is going to be a gathering of XS11's and other classic jap bikes in Suches, Ga.. I went to that one last year, and the roads are fantastic, lots of twists and curves, what I think biking is all about! We did see some Harleys....mostly going the other way!!

scoobes - fly into Atlanta, find a bike, drive north a bit. Suches, Georgia, USA. Got a room you can share at the TWO rally in October. Ralph and I will make room for you. TC is our usual tenant, but I don't think he can make it this year.

Fly in Friday, ride the sidewalls off the bike Saturday and Sunday, fly home Monday. Smile for a month.

hey martyA,that sounds like a good idea,i hope you mean next october as i could not get there this year.topcat i never been on a ride oriented rally as we ride to the meets and then talk and look at the bikes and food and stuff then ride home.i would have to rent a bike but i would like to rent an xs rather than a harley,i will have to do a lot of home work first as the states is a big place and a long way from home.i would get scared without my xs1100s to keep me safe???????i would also like to pick up some nos for my rebuild as you have lots of it over there ( need a big suit case)marty when you say drive north a bit how far do you mean.

Well, I meant this October, but next October is OK, you will just have to wait. Atlanta to Suches is about 135 km, not even a tank of 'Special' gas! Maybe Brent will lend you his XS, he can ride the fire engine. Brent hangs out at the Yahoo site mostly. Fine riding companion. I think there are others in the Atlanta area.

And, if you are serious, you could spend another few days or weeks a few hours further north, in North Carolina. Cherokee County is also renown for its twisties. sixtysix had more than a blast there last year after the VJMR weekend.

And yes, XS rallies are RIDING rallies. We stop in the evening and look at bikes and partake of refreshing beverages...

I will tell you this Scoobes, you cant spit around here without hittin' a Hardley. So prepare to see some. Although you will usually be passing them very quickly so it shouldnt be a problem.
