Ya know, I have gotten alot of help from peops in the association. Anything i need to know is found or answered, whether from a previous thread or new feedback. I'm kinda mechanicly inclined, no expert by any means. Would like to say a little thanks to all. This is a special forum. I truly beleive the mechanics in my town dont know shi.....t.. It's all about knowledge or information.

I had my XL500 Honda rebuilt at Ron's here in town.... Casey did a good job on it but didn't even check everything I told him to (counterbalancer shaft bearings, etc.). He rebuilt the engine for me and I got charged a freaking !$#$!@# load of money. That was my last experience at the shop because I won't get charged anymore for something I can do. So - they did a fair job...

No experience with the Yamaha guys but it doesn't look good to me from what I've seen.

I got my first XS11 in 2001 if I remember right. Bought it from a guy in St. George. By the time I rode it home (6700ft elev) the bike barely ran. That's when I found the XS11 list.

Now I have 3 and have done all the work myself. I have learned enough working on the XS11 to also replace my first tranny on my car by myself without a manual.

We are from same little town it seems. I Know Ron's and any other shop for that matter. Unless it's serious and you have money to spend they are as brain dead as the rest. Guy i work with used to work for Ron's. Seems sharp with 2,4, strokes and the rest. Have asked him a few questions about my boat motor and this XS. The answer was always about 30 mins had to tell me how they worked an all....hehe
