Just got back from the boneyard. To avoid cross-posting I'll go into detail on the 'left side cover' thread you started.

        parts

Hi Bubba, I'd be interested in some of the parts. I need the 2 bolts (allen head) that hold the swing arm in place and I may be interested in purchasing the engine also. Let me know what you want for it. Buck

there was a post early from pain in regards to the entire bike. we do have some contact but nothing concrete. I will know after this weekend if he is buying. I would prefer to sell entire bike, as it does have some potential for restoration. asking $300 for entire bike

Gentlemen, the potential buyer could not make it this weekend. Therefore this bike is still for sale or I will part out. Asking $300 for entire bike. If you are interested in bike or parts, e-mail me @ bstanley@kittles.com

Sorry Bubba, the shipping makes it not doable for me, otherwise I may be interested.

How 'bout a picture so we know exactly what it is we're talking about. I may be interested in it but would have to drive down from Chicago and don't feel like making a trip just to see if it is something that I might be interested in picking up. Are all parts present? How are the tires/brakes. Does the engine turn over?

Did we ever decide just what year and model this bike actually is??

D.P. a picture will take some time, I will have to get some friends involved. We are still emerging from the stone age around my house and don't have that tech yet. The only parts missing are the side covers, the tires are rotten. This bike has not ran in about 2-3 years. Mac, I have determined that the bike is a "82 xj1100. It would take some time to get the bike back to 100%, but would be great parts bike -- everything is there. let me know

Hey as far as a title goes some states will wave a title if the bike is over a certain year old. I think it's 15 years in Georiga. All that is required is a bill of sale and that can be hand written. Here in Georgia that's what I did. But remember this is Georgia and we still say ya'll.
I also saw on partsnmore.com where you can buy a new ignition switch with 2 keys so that shouldn't be a problem. I'd also like to see a restore but I understand that we all need to get parts from somewhere since Yamaha doesn't have them anymore.
