I just did my seat cover with a replacement from B&H Specialities for my XJ. It was exact replacement with OE pattern.
They sell quality product, huge selection and great to deal with.

          Hey, Deo,
I think it took almost two weeks including shipping time. Took about an hour to remove old and install new.

Thanks that is good news. I have looked a number of places for seats and seat covers but no one had the price or the turn around time that they have.

Reply to The PM Nashville Bill sent me!

                Hello Bill,
I ordered & installed the 1981 LH (midnight special) Travelcade Saddleskin and it fits my 81 Special seat nicely. For $54.00 Shipped to me from J.C. Whitney, I have NO complaints. I would recommend the Travelcade SaddleSkins to anyone.
The Travelcade cover is made much better than the factory cover.
Get one you will have No Regrets!
Nice to hear from you Bill, It is riding season - so I have not been on the Forum much.

If you want I can take a picture of it and email it to you.

Two weeks ago I received a cover for my Midnight Special from JCW and it fit fine.
Quality is a little lacking. The stitching across the seat is crooked.
In an earlier post I said I'd gotten a cover from JCW for my E and it didn't fit but I didn't have a stock seat in that instance.

I went to JC Whitney last summer with my seat pulled a few out between 78-81 and I think I ended up with the 80-81 for mine. I also bought one of those jell pads. The padding on my seat was too thick but with a sharp knife and a little off the sides I made it fit and it looks awesome. I like it better than stock and I sit around two inches lower now. Now I could bend my knees when at a stand still too.

                        Recovered

I just got my seat for my '80 Special back from Sargent Custom Seats in Jacksonville Fl and could not be more pleased. Had the foam rebuilt and the pleats replaced by the Carbon weave they offered. Refoamed, recovered and sweet for $225. Check out their site, you will like what you'll find.
