breather tubes ?

i have installed a set of pod filters on two 79 xs specials and am curious about what to do with the two tubes that used to run from the carbs to the airbox. anyone who can shed some light on what these are for and if i really need them would certainly help me out.

Hey there KACustom,

THose are the vent tubes for the carbs, MUCH NEEDED!!! You'll want to run those up under the tank or somewhere, put some little filters/cleaners on the ends to keep bugs and dirt from getting in, but definitely allow them to breath!!!! HTH.
