  • EXHAUSTed?

    Okay fellas,
I was a bit upset that I absentmindedly lost the auction for a nice looking stock exhaust system for my bike yesterday and it only went for about fifty bucks with a flat shipping rate of twenty five.

However, something ocurred to me just now. The weathered 4-1 that came with the bike is looking a bit, well, weathered. Take a look and tell me what you think. I don't want to break anything loose if I'm going to risk breaking anything worse. At least not till the fall and I have a different system to put on it.

    And now without further ado...

    and

and yes, I know it's time for a new head gasket.

Just a little bit of junk built up there. I would first, go but a metric tap and die set. Second, if your not going to ride for awhile, get a can of PB Blaster, ($3.95, just about anywhere ) and squirt it on those rust things we call bolts. Third, let it sit for a few days squirting them down every now and agian, Fourth. try to loosen the nuts and break them off. Drill them out and retap them.
OR if you have access to a torch, you could always heat them up, and put a wrench on them. If you don't break any off, you'll be very lucky and need to buy some tickets at the horse races.
If the nuts break off, hopefully their will be enough stud left to put some vise grips on.
