    Hey there Noby,

You say it's charging okay, but what are the voltage values at what RPM? It should be ~14.5 volts at 2+krpm. If you are doing lots of diagnostics and running it only at idle , then it's not runnig fast enough to properly charge the battery, and so, yes, the lights will draw more off of it than what it will be charging during that idle time. But if you are talking about after an hour or so of riding where you ARE running above 2krpm, then you may have a charging problem afterall!? Also, how old is battery? How clean are the contacts, both + & -, clean ground, etc., a poor ground will prevent it from recharging properly!

What is the wattage of the head lamps? If they are more than stock and you do a lot of traffic, stop and go driving, you can lose charge in a hurry. Those bulbs from JCWhipme are absolute crap. I think I tried a 100W/65W bulb (can't exactly remember) that was not as bright as the one I am using now, which is a Sylvania Silver Star bulb rated same as stock. I am pleased with it. Also, I don't know when you checked the battery, but :
(1)They can fool you by showing a good "skin charge" without having any real storage capacity.
        (2) The only way to really test a battery is with a load test, like hitting the starter while checking its volts, or let a professional test it for free.
        (3) They can "act-up" after they get warm and short out.
        (4) They can be bad from the dealer.
