79 XS Tach and Gas Tank

Will the Tach and Gas tank from a 79 special fit and work on a 80 or 81 Special? What about the seat? Will it work on later model bikes or on the 78 model?

Hey Dan. I believ the tanks should be interchangable on the different Specials. I've read that the Standard and Special seats won't swap out without relocating the ignition module.

the tach will work and the 12000rpm is cool, BUT are you ready to give up your fuel light (on a Special)?
