  • Side Cover/Right --- Wanted to buy

My bike is missing the side cover on the right. It is a 1981 XS1100 Special. Anybody out there have ideas on where I can get one...I have tried Ebay with no success...what would be the going prices for something like this...or should I say what would be reasonable to expect to pay?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Side panels

Tis usually a case of playing a waiting game on Ebay or finding a reasonably local Breakers (bike bone yard). Least favourite (for me) is getting something ordered through the mail from a larger breakers further away...in the US usually.

Personally I like to see what I'm paying for - so either chancing it with ebay photos or actually holding it my hand at the bike scrap yard is my preference.

Good luck - you never know, some kind soul who posts here may have a spare at the back of a garage somewhere.....

Donna, out on Plessis Road (South of Dugald Rd...and South of the driving range, I think) there's what appears to be a wrecking yard for bikes. I haven't stopped in there yet, but might be worth the trip to check 'em out for your side cover(s) and other parts.

          thanks again!

I am actually headed out to see Bob on Plessis today to get tires...I will check with him again, but he did not have anything last time I was out there.

And thanks Buck...I have PM'ed you.

            Side Covers

Seems to me I was browzing the links pages on this site and found a company that had a full range of NEW, Unpainted side covers.
Unfortunatley I don't remember the site... Good luck

P.S. I do have an extra cover kiking around but it doesn't fit my bike which is an 81h model

              Crisser,
Tell me a little about that sidecover.
              I have a black XS1100SF (79).
I'm missing a right side as well.
I know that after 79 the bottom peg is longer and wont fit the older bikes, but if it doesn't fit yours maybe itll fit mine.
Let me know via PM or email me.

I just bought both left and right covers for my 80 special from my Yamaha dealer for 64.00 each. These are brand new from Yamaha. They have a parts book online for items they still carry. Hope this helps.

I need a right side cover as well. Looks like a lot of folks need one of these.

I need one for my '79 XS 11 SF.

Let me know if there's another one flooting around out there.

                  Thanks.

I'm interested in the left one if it'll fit my 79 Standard. I have 2 right ones but no left.
