Replacement Gold Air Box Midnight Special Needed

hi all" im in the uk and haveing trouble getting parts here that i need for my 81 midnight special.
i am looking for a replacement air box with the gold fittings on the end as mine look a bit naff"" can any one help many thanks rick

Just keep checking ebay, I saw the whole setup on there in the last 6 - 8 weeks or so.

You might even try an Ebay search for completed auctions. I don't know how long they keep them available, but sometimes you can find items that got no bids and may still be available from the seller....

I've been checking ebay for parts everyday since probably around April and have never seen any. However, if you see someone listing other parts for a Midnight, try the ask a question of seller feature & see if they have the airboxes too. I was able to get a pair of turn signals and a rear tag light assm that way for a reasonable price. However, I would think that any Midnight that's in really nice cosmetic condition wouldn't be a candidate for parting out. There are outfits that redo plastic chrome plateing, perhaps they could do gold? Check in Hemmings Motor News under services provided. Good luck.

There's someone on ebay now that appears to be parting a Midnight. They seem to be confused about the year though since they have the stuff listed as being 83 MNS parts but the photos show Midnight sidecovers, black tank, fender ect. Perhaps try contacting them like I said & see if they have the airbox. Worth a shot.

NOS Parts

Take a look at http://www.yamatopdog.com/ They have a lot of NOS parts. I was able to get an original fuel sensor and seat cover for my XJ1100J. Good luck.
