  • Hot and Cold Exhaust

Fired up me bike after 9 years last week-end.
Started straight away this afternoon but.
The middle two exhaust pipes are boiling hot but the outside two exhaust pipes were cold to the touch when the engine started and by the time the engine was taken off the choke there was a hint of warmth. Could have been from the heat of the middle two.
    What do you think?
    Coils or carbs?

I've been messing and swapped the plugs around.
The two inside plugs with the two outside plugs.
Started no problem but now all four pipes are getting hot.

I would say pick up coil wires. I will be looking at mine Tuesday as I had a cylinder cut out on me the other day.

        Same.

        Inner/Outer pairs are ignition
        Left/Right pairs are fuel

        Except when it isn't....

Mine was sitting on bike left inner pipe was not as hot running. I swear I could feel it vibrate when I was riding along at 40 on a back road then it stopped with the vibrations, then rode fine the rest of the way.

I took off the cover today and started the bike and pulled on the wires. I was able pulling on the wires to rev the engine but the wires are good. I'm thinking there is still some leftover gas from last year in the carbs and it needs to be out. I will take it out tomorrow for a ride but all the pipes are equally hot.
