    timeing setting

    hi thear very new to the xs
    i have an 81 11oo midnight special am still waiting for manual too arrive but wonderd if any one could run through setting timeing and settings cheers from the sunny uk

      With the engine warm, and idling at 1000 plus or minus 100 rpm the "F" mark should line up with the pointer. Next disconect and plug the vacuum line to the advance and rev engine to 5200 rpm. You should get 36 degress at the pointer, for a Standard. A Special should read 31 degrees.
