    It should be the same if just the coils. There was chat on XJBikes.com about using the entire XJ ignition system on an XS. It gets rid of moving parts.

      The xj p/u coils use 3 wire and the XS type uses 4. If you have a 10m tci it for sure can be done. I have tried making an XS tci work on an xj and I ran into problems with the 3 wire running into the 4 wire tci. I bet Scott 3phase would know a bit more.

          Hey, isn't the charging system on the other side for an XJ? The pickups would sense the timing plate going in reverse, no? Maybe it doesn't matter at all.
