  • I sold the Pumpkin's tug

    It was time.
At 82 I've "lost my bottle" for long distance cruising and the XS11 never got out of 3rd gear around town so I swapped the Pumpkin onto my XS650.
Along with the manuals & spare parts I've given the new owner this site's address so when he signs up I'm sure ne'll be made welcome.

    hi Fred,
End of an era. Glad to hear the pumpkin will continue on the XS650.
I seem to recall it started life on the 650 before upsizing to the 1100 ?
Have always enjoyed your posts and hope you will continue to post here on XS11.com. You are our resident Sidecar Guru

      Hi Phil,
a guru? More of a bodger I reckon but thanks anyway.
Sold the XS11 to Rob Lewis from Prince Albert SK. He plans to run it solo and if he joins up here my sidecar subframe will be available.
We just moved to a small bungalow from a large 4-way side split (empty nest + wife's knees) Had to give up a 2-car heated garage & cope with long skinny unheated single. Had to do a major ****sling to fit rig & SUV inside.
It's an almost new SUV. Ironically, I survived 60+ years collision free on 2 & 3 wheels to have our old SUV sideswiped, rolled 450ยบ and written off by sime clown who must have gotten his driver's license at the Blind School.
The Rescue guys cut the SUV's roof off to extract us and we survived like James Bond, shaken, not stirred. Good that the Blind Guy's insurance pays for all and Oh My, do I believe in seatbelts.

        Hi Fred,
Glad to hear you survived a huge crash in the SUV.
XS11.com is having problems for signing up new members I hope Rob will be patient and still can access as a visitor which restricts the ability to post.

Fred, I am glad to hear you are still on this side of the dirt! I was recently thinking about you when someone was talking about sidecars for the XS11 on one of the Facebook pages.
