  • Horn stay

I need to replace the horn stay on my XJ 1100 maxim, wondering if a stay from a XS 1100 would fit.

The mount on an XS11 SPECIAL should be close or the same. I would look for a 1980 or newer.

Just an update. The 1100 special stay fit the frame but the horn mounts are quite different. It would require some cutting and fitting to possibly make it work. I will hunt for a Maxim stay this winter first.

I love to find "something that might work " lik. In this case, I would find the part in the partzilla diagram, then google the part number. That should give you a schedule of applications

Yeah it's a pretty blue, but just because you're old is no excuse to buy a bagger. Fortunately I have wrenches.

            Maybe

I gave a preliminary look through my boxes of stuff but have one more place to look, I should have one or two around here. I mounted an air horn under the seat area so I have no need. Just gotta find them. I'll put it on my list to do, hopefully they didn't get tossed in the move.
