  • Things that make you go Hmmm, electrical

I am bringing my SG back to life after 16 years down. I have done every thing that is needed to get her ready to fire up (so far as I know,) but I ran into something that I cannot explain today.

I took the cover off the ignition module, just to check for corrosion or obvious heat damage. It looked pretty good, not that that means much, but obvious corrosion or burning would demand a replacement. As I was putting the cover screws back on I push reasonably hard on the screwdriver as you must on older screws and heard a relay click. The key was off. I tried it again and got the same relay click. It happens every time I tilt the ignition module. WTF?, Any ideas other than a short I need to hunt down?

First suspect would be one of the ignition module wires is broken internally. Using both hands, pull every ignition module wire every inch trying to separate wire which will determine where internal wire break is.
