  • Wire gauge for stator?

I need to do rewiring. If someone reading this knows the gauge of the wires at the stator connector, I would appreciate that info.

    Thanks.

8 AWG works well. Be SURE you have the same for the ground from Battery to frame, and frame to engine. ONLY USE AUTOMOTIVE TYPE WIRE! ( but YOU know that :>) )

      # 8 is a bit big for the stator connections. It will be great for the starter. The XS charging system is good for 20A, # 12 wire is good for that.
Slow down and enjoy life. If you are in that much of a hurry, you should have left eariler.

Thanks! I'm going to use aircraft wire instead of automotive. Aircraft wire is tin plated to prevent corrosion. I'm suffering corrosion in my wiring.

          Sorry, misread the thread...
I use marine wire for the same reason. I can buy it at both West Marine AND a local auto parts store.

While I have ensured that is not my problem, I am going to do as you have directed.

Good deal. Doing so will keep future gremlins at bay.
