  • Duplicating Yamaha Black/Red on XS11SG

I think I got the yamaha black/red duplicated pretty well. I have seen a few threads on people asking about it. Here is a pic of my SG with its new colors.

Started with a black base coat (Rustolem Black industrial emamel)
A light mist of this. It is a fine red flake in a clear coat

Topped off with a 2K clear coat then cut and polish.

Just like the original the red flake does not show well in the shade. Get it out in the sun light and the red sparkles are awsome. I did the tank side covers and side bags the same way.

Cool, that was always my favorite xs paint. I have the gold flakes and it just looks dusty to me.

I use this 2K clear coat

I really like it. It is fuel proof as I have found out. It need to be sprayed carefully to avoid orange peel but does sand and polish nicley.
