  • 78 carb slide/diaphragm/needle

    Hey guys,

Working on a set of carbs for a friend and we're missing the slide/diaphragm/needle and spring from a bank of 1978 carbs.

Anyone have a spare setup they would like to sell?

    Thanks,

    Doug

Didn't realize there is a number on the slide/diaphragm part. Can't find one on any of the three I do have.

      Where should I look?

On the needle. But now that I re-read your post seems you need more than just a needle, in which case I can't help {:-(

Slide needle numbering/lettering is at top of needle on the side of it where clip is positioned. Likely need a magnifying glass in order to read that designation.

I should have one around here. Let me go through the spares boxes and see what I can find. The diaphram will be the "big" thing, as a lot of them have gotten hard and are starting to get pin holes. There is a "fix" for that, though.
I'll send you a PM once I know what I have.

Found a XS650 slide, fits the LG1100 carb just fine but has an XS650 needle in it, diaphragm a little stiff but not bad. I think it could be used as is or softened with the right chemical, yours for postage. https://ibb.co/f5WafL
