I too am clueless to your dire references..I saw this bike and met the man..there is nothing shady going on here..this is a fine example of a 1981 XS1100H or Venturer...I would love to own this..if I could....but alas the timing is again not there for me...but anyone else would do well to have this bike ...period
Oh and a buyer isnt supposed to know the reserve price in any auction...

Looks like a nice bike to me. Two comments, though.
            1. The mirrors are the square off the specials, not the round that Yamaha put on the standards.
            2. It has the Vetter design fairing. I've had both the Pacifico off the 1978 and the Vetter, and the Pacifico is a MUCH better design in my opinion. Higher top speed and higher gas mileage with the Pacifico.
That said, if I had room and money I would buy it just because I know how good the XS11 is.

Ray, it has the correct fairing for an H. I too have seen this bike. While perhaps not a museum piece it is an excellent example. Not perfectly preserved but will make someone a fine vintage road going machine. It runs
              Better looking than mine.

The owner is one of us. He's been bringing that bike to VYR for at least a few years. He's a member of this forum. The bike has a few modifications. It looks like a fine machine to me.

I had an H model. Best riding position IMO. The bars are a bit higher to clear the tank. The seat was very comfy to me. I tried the nakid look (no plastic) but it looked a bit odd with the mongo tank. Personally, I liked the vetter faring that was with it over the other. It was sleeker looking.

What I'm referring to is the pic shows the fairing, side bags & trunk. The words say "Tour pack does come with bike". That's all I'm saying. Not saying he is trying to screw anyone. Just read the add.

skids, All I'm saying is the fairing, like a lot of things, is a personal taste issue. I'd STILL buy the bike IF I had the room and money...

Oh, I saw that, did not think it was right for a venturer, and that tour pack must have been at least $500 new. No wonder he wants to keep it. It will most likely go on his new HD ? };-)
