  • petcock adapters

I picked up a spare special tank that came with these petcock adapters on it.

Does anyone recognize what petcocks they might accommodate? Something after market I assume since Neither my standard or special petcocks line up.

My OEM petcocks have the tower centered between the screws but the adapter hole for the tower is off center, so the oem petcock screws do not line up.

Also It looks like the adapter mounting screw is larger than the original petcock screw hole so I am reluctant to remove the adapters. But maybe all I need to do is use a larger screw with the OEM petcocks after removing the adapters??

Thanks in advance for your advice and recommendations on what to do about my dilemma!

Are they glued in place or something? Personally, I think I would try removing one and see if the stock petcock could be re-installed. It's difficult to judge the threads by only looking at the head of the screw.

Pingle adapter plates??? Why would they take the petcocks and leave the adapter plates?

Agree with Skids. Looks like a Pingle adapter.

They would take them to put on another project or sell. My recollection is that they run about $110 apiece.

Right on DanSmith! Thanks for the encouragement.....

It took quite a bit of effort to break the large headed screws loose but found the diameter of the screw itself to be very close to the original and I was able to thread the original screw back in. Now original special petcocks will work fine.

            Thanks
