I bought a large assortment of male/female electrical connectors to replace my old ones. The old spades are appx 1/4" wide, but my new ones are appx 1/8". Is this going to cause undue resistance?
Terminal blade size is usually chosen based on the required current handling capability. For example, click on the the picture below.
It is possible an engineer might have chosen a terminal based on other criteria, such as resistance, commonality with other parts, weather considerations, etc.
In your situation, you might choose each connector based on a case-by-case evaluation of the required current for the terminals in each connector.
