Spoke to a rep at Dynatek again and they provided the engineering drawings for the rotor and pickups. He also confirmed that since the pickups are set at 180 degrees then engine direction does not matter and that part will function properly. He also said that a vacuum switch is not needed at all and that can all be controlled as is.

Here are the drawings for the rotor and plate. Does anyone have the specs of the XS crankshaft snout? will the rotor bolt on as is or will an adapter be needed? I doubt it will bolt on but I cannot remember what it looks like on the end

Main reason most companies will NOT do the XS is because of the vacuum advance/retard system. This system is one of the reasons we can do 30mph in high gear, and just twist and go. Most bikes would buck and bog if you tried that! A good set of new coils will do more for the bike than any "new" ignition.
Tottally agree with Ray! For replacement coils that are plug'n'play are the Honda VFR coils. have to watch and check ohms of them before replacement with a volt meter. some are 3ohm and some are 1.5 ohm. This applies to the XS11 series. Haven't a clue associated with the FJ model.

Does anyone have an accurate schematic of the TCI internals? If not, does anyone have high-res close ups of both sides of the TCI board? Just curious as to what's in it and if it's possible to replicate or fake.

          Hey Seth,

For the 78-80 TCi's, you can build your own from GM parts, see the tech tips, Mods, Electrical about building your own TCI.
