  • Smelly XS11

    Hey group,
Do I have poop on my pegs or something??
I posted a 79 XS11 in Detroit with 5k miles and all the details and only got a few views while others are getting hundreds.
Is there something about the listing or is it that it is in Michigan. It's not in Detroit but a suburb.

    Any suggestions?

    Jim

You MUST have photo's on craigslist if you want to sell something. I always block out the plate number, but try to include shots from every angle so people can see what the bike really looks like. You probably would not bid on a used audio amp on ebay if there wasn't a photo of the amp.

Must be tough riding down a crowded highway keeping that plate covered so all those people don't see it. Doesn't CHP have issues with that?

No, they usually stop me for drinking coffee and texting at 85mph in a school zone, on the bike.

It just always strikes me as ridiculous that people cover the tags with a thumb or another digit for posting pics of vehicles for sale. Are they wanted by the FBI for some vehicular crime?

More people see it driving back and forth to work in 1 day than will ever see it on a sale site.

it is possible for someone to see the tag, and go out of state and get "new" tags for "their" vehicle. It has been done...

Couldn't that be done with any car in Walmart parking lot or that's driving down the street?

No. because with CL you can print out the add and say " I just bought it" and " I don't have the title, just a bill of sale". Been done, but mostly in the South.

Can't even get insurance or tags without a title here.

I don't think you can buy a plate that is already currant and you would have to transfer title to get a different name on it. No title, no name change. Even if you would apply for a lost title the DMV will send it to the last name registered. YMMV.

Southern state govt's are notoriusly antiquated and inefficient..they do things rather in a backwards fashion...what applies in your state certainly does not apply in say GA..you dont even need a title there at all...kentucky I see people driving cars without license plates..on the interstates...Kentucky residents..
Why even those 50cc "liquor sickles" werent even regulated here in Nc until just recently...clogging up traffic with no ins..license or registration required..now it has changed..but progress is very slow IMO

BTW the OP has a nice bike forsale..he posted pics in the F/S subforum...
