  • Oil level in Rear shocks on XJ1100???

I'm getting ready to install new (From Ebay) rear shocks, and the service manual on page 5-26 says the oil level in them should be 75mm..... The trouble is, it doesn't clarify if the 75mm is up from the bottom of the area in the shock that holds the oil, (You can feel the bottom with a long thin probe) or if when you stick your probe in, you should hit the top level of the oil when you stick the probe down in 75mm from the top.

Anyone have experience or know how with the shocks?? Thanks

If I do it wrong, I will either be 2.95" too full or too empty.
