All true Jerry, but it also changes load on front needed to change or SLOW compression rate. Hope that wasn't too confusing

......and to make things a bit more confusing, Honda, Yamaha and KTM on their off road/dual sport/moto-x bikes have compression dampening on their left front fork ONLY. Re-bound dampening is on both forks. Honda ST's and Wings use ONE rear shock mounted to shaft drive side of swing-arm to help counter compression load forces on dampening controlled LEFT front fork

Forks
I know that when the air is low on my SF that I can feel the road with it as well. I usually run 12lb in it as I normally am two up. Put the air back up to 12lb and it smooth's right out. I'm also running continentals on the E. Great rain tire. Not quite as soft as the battle axes I have on the SF and LH.mack
