  • so my clutch isn't slipping anymore

bought new clutch plates only to find the old ones were the same thickness as the new.

went ahead and installed the new plates anyway, along with new springs.

i didn't think this would fix the problem but it did. any thoughts? could it have just been the springs? can clutch plates just get old? i have heard of clutch plates glazing before - but was told this happens when a clutch sits for an extended amount of time.

    any thoughts? i'm curious.

It just means that your old springs were shot. They lose their tension after a while.
