    Hey there Wetassnofish,

I would think that if it was an 83, that it would have the newer style of carbs that don't have the extra bowl vents, and so the jets should be around the 110-120 range for mains, pilots around 42.5. The later model carbs also didn't have the slides that you could adjust the needle height.

The earlier model carbs had 2 sets of tubes, one lower closer to the bowls for fuel, one a bit higher for vents. They shared fuel thru the mains to the idle circuit, so their jets were larger, 137.5 mains. They had the adjustable needles on the slides!

Check your pilot idle screws on the top front edge of the carbs, they should be about 1&1/4 turns out from gentle seat. If all you can find are brass caps, then you have the later model, and you'll want to drill and pull these caps out to gain access to the screws for adjusting the idle circuit.

Being a EURO bike, though, no telling what it had, what type the other carbs are off of, etc., but hopefully the description above will help you sort out your carbs and parts to get the right types put together! Also, check out your intake boots for leaks which could also aggravate idle!! HTH. T.C.
