Nice looking bike with low miles. That is a good-looking seat.

I believe the seat was from the Yamaha accessory catalog back in the day. I have seen XS650 Specials with the exact same seat. It's the real deal, IMHO.

I have that foam and couldn't figure out what bike it fits. It's marked xs 11 ltd. Free to a good home.

Yes I believe that's it. He says one small rip, the seam he points out ripped because the vinyl is rotted in the seam there, also on the right side some more damage.
This seat could be patched up, (how long it would last ?) a cover is not an option as being a somewhat custom they are not made. An upholsterer would be $150+ and sargent would likely be $300+.
If the seam is rotted, how is the foam underneath ? More $s

Yeah, I think you'd be taking a big chance but worst-case end up with a pan at least. But I have three seats and one bike so not for me. Apropos of nothing, I'm attempting to do a custom memory foam pad for my third one, which I got for free. It will accompany my Venturer tank which is coming along SLOWLY. Once all that is in place, i may try to come down for the SE rally, as I have friends every few hundred miles there and back...

                    Yes

I was just going through my stuff and I've one 80SG take off seat (I think very nice), this seat will fit my 81LH/SH. I have a take off seat on my XJ and another for the XJ in the shop being covered. I'm set !
I was looking at NADA values and the 79SF1100 they say is worth much more than the 80SG, 81SH and even the LG and LH by as much as $1000.00 or a bit more, excellent for the SF $6000.00. ?
Must be because it's the first year of the XS1100 special ? ? ?
