Looking for the distance from the rear shock mounting point (or any reference point) to where the rear fender attaches to each side of the frame. I have a 80SG that was "bobbed" and the frame was cut and I would like to take it back to original. I also have an uncut donor frame with no title that I planned on using, I could measure it but I lack confidence my measurement would be accurate enough that the mounting holes on the rear fender would line up perfect with a recently added frame extension (if that's the right phrase). I was hoping someone might have a drawing with dimensions that was supplied by Yamaha.Comment

You could use a piece of cardboard and make a template from the non-titled frame using the top shock mount bolt hole and another reference point to transfer to your chopped frame

You could make a plywood/wood pattern that fits the good frame. I did that when I shortened my side/center stand. Bolt the plywood to shock bolt, cut wood blocks to fit each side of frame. Sounded good a minute ago.

Thanks for the suggestions, I hate to cut up a perfectly good frame to do this but if push comes to shove I will. I'm also considering keeping it bobbed but I just hate the seat, rear fender, and brake light/ turn signal setup that was on this bike. (notice I said "was"...lol) I just picked it up on Friday so plenty time and things to do before I have to make the decision as to which route I'll go.
